I found this grammar lesson particularly challenging. I had never conceptualised these verbs as different to other verbs before, but now can see how they serve a unique function. Transitive verbs in particular can have a high degree of nuance in usage. However, many of the transitive verbs are ones that seem to describe day-to-day actions and relationships with people. Therefore, there are a lot of role play possibilities, which seems to be the best way to reinforce grammar points that have many exceptions or variations. I would imagine many of these are also used frequently on television programmes. Bridging from the previous lesson, one possibility might be to find a sitcom episode in which something happens that necessitates the use of an especially high number of these verbs so that students can see an example and discuss.
