Unit 6 covers information about the past tenses; the past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. I have learned about the form and usage of all past tenses, common mistakes and read about useful teaching ideas. Past tenses are not too different from present tenses, except they relate to past time periods. For example, past continuous forms feature some form of the verb 'to be' in the past plus the 'ing' form of the verb and past perfect forms feature some form of the verb 'to have' in the past and the past particle form of the verb. An example of an Activate stage teaching idea can be to teach the irregular verb forms with card games matching the present tense with the past tense (past simple).
