Unit 2 is a wonderful synopsis about the theories and methods commonly used by successful tefl teachers and practitioners. This section effectively explains the importance of elicitation from teachers to students to promote student participation, and the different lesson structures commonly implemented by successful teachers of foreign languages. This sections strongly emphasizes the importance of the Engage, Study, and Activate phases in the teaching process, how each is implemented, and the different patterns in which a successful teacher might use them and there many different methods.I really thought that lesson was useful because it showed me some ideas for possible warm up activities that I could use to assess my students. I often think that a syllabus or outline is the most proper way to beginning a course; however, now I know that I can still use the syllabus, but also incorporate vocabulary warm ups like hangman or Pictionary. Tongue twisters are great for pronunciation exercises, not just warm up activities. Finally, dealing with multi-level students can be a real chore. Showing the examples of providing some assessments sheets can be beneficial to their teaching.
