The content of this unit comprises the methods and techniques used in lesson planning in teaching English as a foreign language. The important functions of lesson planning were also highlighted. A detailed procedure involved in planning lessons was thoroughly examined - e.g. how a lesson should be written down, how to be organised, and what should be included in a lesson plan were all discussed. An example of a detailed lesson plan was provided. Other important parts of lesson planning including monitoring lessons, planning a sequence of lessons, useful questionnaires, and exercises were also provided in this unit. Through this unit, I have been able to get an understanding of the importance of lesson planning and how best to go about it.
