The unit begins by covering the various styles and practices of language learning methods; and proceeds to explain that the method being taught by ITTT is the ESA method (Engage, Study, Activate). It then explains the various ways in which ESA can be applied in a lesson i.e. Straight Arrow, Boomerang or Patchwork. Followed by a plethora of ideas that can be used in the various stages. For example, memory games, anagrams and consequences can be used for the Engage portion of the lesson, definitions, crosswords and drill for the Study portion and role-play, debate and story telling can be used for the Activate portion. Lastly the unit spoke on how and when to properly correct both mistakes and errors.
