This unit helped me to better understand some of the problems my students may experience. As a native speaker when I grew up speaking English it was indicated in my English classes that there are 3 tenses. However, from this unit I have learned that we have many more with many uses. In just the present tense alone there are 4 sub-categories that students need to utilize to better speak English that apply to many different situations. Because of this knowledge, I can now use the suggested student activities and my better organized knowledge to help students when they are struggling and guide them to the correct tense by helping them express what they mean by narrowing down how they want to use their verb and what they want to convey.
