Unit 12 covered the teaching of productive skills, namely speaking and writing. The reasons for speaking and writing were outlines and includes various communicative purposes. Accuracy activities are those which focus on producing correct language. Usually done in the study phase, it is controlled for accurate reproduction. Fluency activities, done in the activate phase, are more creative and focus on the flow of communication. Techniques to encourage students' interaction were also covered. Writing skills can be challenging due to grammatical differences. The students handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation all contribute to successful English writing.
