In this unit I learned many of the differences between the different types of learners such as individuals vs. groups and how to overcome difficulties faced in the teaching environment.
For example when teaching individuals the student gets all of your attention and more feedback. However, a teacher may have to overcome personality differences and no group/pair work.
While in a group setting pair work is common and the stronger students can help the weaker ones.
However a disadvantage in working in groups is that they may have different English levels which can make teaching a group challenging.
This unit also reviewed the different teaching methods used such as grammar translation, audio lingualism, tasked based learning, PPP, the silent way, and ESL.
