Unit 13 covers general guidelines for English pronunciation, which is probably the most neglected aspect of English language teaching. The unit deals with the areas of stress, rhythm, and intonation. It also concentrates on the International Phonetic Alphabet and its use in the classroom. This unit was very helpful and made me aware of the importance of pronunciation, stress and intonation practice with students for improving their accuracy and clarity of communication. The examples and techniques that can be used to teach students gave me some confidence and practice to teach such skills effectively.
