This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
this unit covered the two receptive components of English language learning: reading and listening. An important distinction that was made for these receptive skills was the reason for which one uses these skills; for a purpose or for entertainment. There are multiple ways that a person can approach a material that involves using receptive skills. One can digest the material completely for the details, skim the entire material for a general meaning, or scan for specific details. I think it will be import to practice all of these skills with students so that they get used to approaching reading and listening materials in the most effective way possible.
