Much of what this lesson offers s true and a big judgment call -know what kind of course book you're using in advance. I think that ITTT's combination of modules into one course book could work substantially. The methods and theories unit from the third lesson makes a good introduction. The tenses can be worked into an organized flow of sections along with pronunciation. I agree that culture-specifity is also a respectable factor to keep in mind especially when looking into languages. Some course books that are published in certain parts of the United States, particularly the south, should be approached with caution as some course books can teach from bias perspectives as well.
