In this unit, I learned that it is important for the teacher to really be aware details that can easily be overlooked. For example, it is important for the teacher to take notice of the individual behaviors of students to that they can structure the class in a way that all behaviors, personalities, and learning speed can be accommodated. Some students might be a bit behind, in that case I would pair that student with someone who is a bit more ahead so it can create a balance. I also learned that the attitude of the teacher is very important to creating a conducive learning environment. The teacher must be enthusiastic to teach but also demand respect in a respectful way-- one way is through respecting the students and through catering to their needs. It also means responding to unfavorable behavior by students in a calm, collected and constructive way.
