This unit consisted of two videos of the same teacher conducting class. However, the first lesson was an example of ineffective ways of conducting class where the teacher starts off with a very off-putting attitude, making it difficult for students to engage in the class activities. The second lesson was much more effective because the teacher had much better rapport with the students because of his engaging attitude and friendly mannerisms. He also speaks much more clearly and to a level at which the students could follow along with his instructions and what he was saying. I think this was a useful unit because it shows a realistic example of errors that I could be making in the classroom where rapport and general interest in the class could be improved just by making small changes in how I conduct myself.
