This unit looks at troubleshooting and what problems you may come across in a TESOL lesson, such as first lessons, which we find shouldn't be focused on language goals and should be about getting to know the class and their needs. Next we have warmers which can be nice warm up activities which can help deal with engagement problems from diving straight into lessons. How we can deal with students being at different levels and how we make sure everybody is learning. We also consider how we can make lessons work for large classes, how we can handle students diverting back to their native language, how we can encourage reluctant learners and difficulties with listening texts.
