Unit 5 covered managing classes; eye contact, gesture and voice, grouping students, classroom arrangement, the balance between TTT and STT, giving instructions, establish rapport and maintaining discipline. I learned that the teacher?s physical presence and voice can save the teacher?s talking time,different choices of the student?s grouping and classroom arrangements depend on various factors eg. class size and type of activity. This Unit was very interesting for; especially learning about how to establish rapport and maintaining discipline since I just have been teaching individual German classes for the last two years.
