This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Writing and Speaking are the productive skills of a language. Often writing skills are neglected as normally students want to focus more on the speaking ones.
Accuracy and Fluency are the domains of language production and are equally important. To work on the first one is necessary to try to achieve a systematic correctness when speaking or writing. However, students are also required to work on the second domain to become able of expressing themselves smoothly and, therefore, fluently in both spoken or written forms.
There are many ways to train Accuracy and Fluency. Normally Accuracy is achieved with repetitious exercise such as drills (more suitable for a study phase); whereas Fluency mostly requires learners to speak freely to comfortably experiment with the language (more suitable for an activate phase).
