Receptive skills are always difficult for Chinese stduents. We have our tranditional ways to learn English, which is memorizing the vocabularies. However,althought we know the definition of the words, it doesnt mean we can understand them in the context. It becomes a big problem. We have a large vocabularies, however, we dont know how to use them. When we are teaching the reading or listening, pre-vocabulary teaching becomes very important. How we organize our reading or listening teaching lesson, how to choose a suitable text for the students to read , how to ensure the students' engagement and at the same time their understanding are vital. This unit gives some guides for us to teach better and teach logically.
