This unit covered the main types of conditionals (zero, first, second, third, and mixed) as well as reported speech. The differences between the conditionals, as well as how to correctly form reported speech, were explained in detail.
This unit proved to be one of the most difficult for me yet. Instinctively I know how to use the conditionals and reported speech correctly, but reading through this chapter and working through the Task Sheet has really helped me know the rules explicitly. Before, I wouldn't have had much confidence in teaching these topics, but now I feel a lot more comfortable doing so.
As always, I'll keep the recommended activities sections in mind for if/when I teach on these topics. I also have a better idea of what kinds of mistakes students might make while learning conditionals and reported speech, and how to help them.
