This unit was not only informative, it was fascinating. Intonation is a part of English speech that is so integral, and yet the amount of communication that's done through that is staggering. Since I plan to teach in Thailand, I can imagine that this might be a bit more difficult for some students to grasp, as it is difficult for me to learn Thai since Thai is a language based around inflection. In Thai, different tones on the same sound will change the word, so I very much look forward to tackling that challenge.
Having a resource at hand that explains the phonemic alphabet is useful, although more study will be needed to master all of that particular chart.
