Having studied at least 4 other European languages, that foreign grammar has aided me in recognizing English verb tenses and conjugations. While English is of course intuitive to me as a native speaker, it is not necessarily the easiest European language to learn because of the irregularities. However, with the conditional tense, I do not detect such irregularities as I do in the present tense. Oddly, that gives it some potential to make it easier to learn for a European speaker. However, for a native speaker of a non-Indo-European language, it could be quite difficult with no simpler reference point (i.e., a European language).
