Having student motivation for speaking in class is essential. The content mentioned in this lesson is very true. Beginner teachers may mistake students poor participation as a fault of their own. However, a lot of students in the country I teach in are worried about losing face by making a mistake in front of the others. It is important that we understand the cultural differences and the repercussions that follow in the classroom. I really never thought of placing the difference between accuracy and fluency in the classroom, as I really only focus on fluency. But once again, after reviewing this lesson, I have found a few ways such as putting accuracy exercises in the study phase while continuing focusing on fluency in the activate stage.
