Unit 12 is all about teaching speaking and writing. Collectively these two are call the productive skills. In speaking, when a teacher wants to introduce a communicative activity to the class, it is important that a teacher creates a need or desire for the students to communicate in order for the activity to be a successful one. In these communicative activities, we train the students in accuracy and fluency. It is important to bare in mind the difference between these two activities and when each of them should be applied on what phase in the lesson. As for writing, there are also factors to be considered such as handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation. The two skills are different but some factors are similar in some ways.
