This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The current unit provided an overview of the past tenses. As with the present tenses, the form and usage of the past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous were described along with the common errors/mistakes students make as well as teaching ideas. And, as with the previous section on present tenses, I found that the unpacking of these forms into their basic units was very helpful in understanding where students are likely to make mistakes/errors. I also found the activate sections especially helpful - in particular, the use of journals and narrating stories. From this unit future teachers could learn how to prepare a good and well combined lesson plan. It was specifically described what teacher should plan for the particular lesson. To create a lesson plan teachers have to take many different aspect into consideration. A good lesson plan should contain procedure, estimated timing, learners' objectives etc. At the same time, it has to be stated that lesson plan must be very flexible and suitable to classroom environment.
It was a very challenging and interesting unit. It gives an excellent review of pieces of information from the previous units.
