There are various teaching methodologies, and each of them might be useful for specific teaching levels and learning points. As a teacher, we should adjust our talk time and students' talk time properly according to which methodology we use and what we aim to teach. ESA (engage, study and activate) is the methodology that this course is based on. It has three main types that are called straight arrow, boomerang and patchwork ESA lessons. Only specific rule for an ESA lesson is it should start with an engage stage and finish with an activity stage. Teacher-student correction is the last resort and should be put in act when the mistakes are about the language point we're teaching, being regularly repeated or it seriously impedes understanding. Most importantly, the corrections and feedbacks that teacher provides must be encouraging.
