This units involves the theories and methods of teaching. It presents several different ways to introduce the language such as Presentation, practice and production, task-based learning etc. A optimum method used is Engage Study activate or ESA. Part of engage is to use drawings, flash cards, gap fill or other methods to involve a student. The study part is where the teacher shows examples to elicit sentences. This is the area where the teacher corrects the students most often. The activate stage is used in the form of role play, or group activity like have a role play with a travel magazine. ESA can be done in boomerang,straight line, or patchwork.
