Unit 7: Teaching New Language has taught me how to effectively provide instruction for vocabulary, grammar, and language functions. The additional insight into what contributes to the difficulty of new word acquisition and the provision of selection criteria based on appropriateness, frequency/coverage, and teachability will assist me in further developing the course curriculum. By presenting ideas on how to convey this material enjoyably within the Engage, Study, and Activate phases, as well as sample lesson formats, I now have a better grasp on how to creatively instruct these concepts without becoming too boring and predictable in my approach.
