Speach of native speakers is slightly different from written text. They normally use \"soundjoining\" while talking.That is why sometimes it is difficult to understand a native speaker. A beginner might also be surprised whith words that are written equal but sounds different. Teacher should pay enough attention to articulation and shouldn't be shy to demonstrate what his/her mouth is doing. As for me, teaching to read transcriptions is enough big part of the course for beginners.
