The basic skills in language are the following: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. For Unit 7, it focuses on the first two aforementioned skills. These two, reading and listening are called receptive skills which are equally important. Thus, in an EFL class, it is recommended that all skills including the other two, will be incorporated as much as possible to create balance in the learning process and to help the learners developed not only one skill but all. Whatever the reasons and motives for reading and listening, the EFL teacher should make it sure that he/she is helping the learners build confidence; engage and motivate them to listen or read and comprehend each reading and listening material. There maybe problems with regards to teaching and learning receptive skills, but it can be addressed by a number of ways. One of these ways are the approaches on how to deal with language difficulty.
