Unit 3 compare the different teaching methods and techniques, pointing out how each fit (or not) with natural ways of learning. ESA (engage, study and activate) is the methodology the TEFL course is based on and the 3 stages are defined, each accompanied by numerous examples of corresponding activities. Variations on the ?straight arrow? ESA model are explained and discussed. The importance of feedback is emphasized with several manners described. Correction techniques are described with an emphasis on the difference between mistakes and errors. A correction order is usefully given (self-first if possible, the students then the teacher as the last resort).
