This unit was helpful in that it gave me insight and useful links regarding how to conduct a needs analysis for business English students and to construct a syllabus for them. Personally, I find the situational syllabus the most practical for teaching business English. One can always teach important grammar points THROUGH a practical application of the lesson, and that is my philosophy for learning foreign languages anyway. My German is nowadays stronger than my French because I have had to apply my German practically in specific situations and learn the vocabulary, phrases, and listening skills used for that specific situation. Therefore, this is the type of method I would most likely use with my students.
