This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, I learned all the different methods of teaching, including task-based learning, the silent way, communicative language teaching, suggestopedia and the lexical approach. I also learned about the concept of Engage, Study, Activate or ESA for short and all the different activities I could try with my class such as introduction prompts, alphabet relay and games such as I spy, sevens, memory games, slow Pictionary and word linking. I learned that students need as much exposure to the language as possible and that they should be allowed to discover it for themselves whenever possible. I learned that anxiety and stress need to be as low as possible for lessons to work.
