I find that this unit gives a good overview of the types of tests given to students throughout their directed study of the English language. I learnt the purpose and distinctions of giving a diagnostic, placement, progress and practice tests. Now I can put into place a systematic way of finding out whether my students will be prepared for the big exams. Not only that, I will be able to tailor my lessons more finely to suit my student's needs. What I found interesting in particular is the section 4 part on page 5, this will help me in building rapport with my students and also keeping them motivated with purpose throughout their study.
