Unit 9 elaborates on the differences between authentic and created teaching materials, listing the advantages of each, it then demonstrates a number of examples of the latter. The last section of the unit elucidates the different types of language teaching books, the advantages and disadvantages of using such books, and how to make the best use of them. I feel I have learnt from this unit how to achieve a balance between using authentic and created materials, and how best to adapt any books I may use to serve my students appropriately and according to their language level and the topic being taught.
