In this unit, the productive skills, speaking and writing, were discussed. The reading asserts that both are equally important, but writing tends to be the skill delegated to homework and; therefore, the least practiced. According to the unit, writing tends to be more focused on accuracy, whereas speaking is more focused on fluency. Another important aspect was how to approach getting students involved and more likely to speak aloud in class. Mostly, this problem seems to be solved by group or paired activities. The unit also stressed that, while it is important to evaluate and correct, one mustn't correct everything or too immediately. The reason for this is that the student is then at risk of becoming too self conscious. The other main takeaway from the unit was the importance of using games in the classroom.
