This unit discusses Evaluating Students. It describes a number of different type of tests used for evaluating students. Placement Tests are used to know which class to place a new student into. While Progress Tests are used to gauge what has been remembered and what needs to be reviewed. Diagnostic Tests are similar to Placement Tests and are sometimes more extensive. They are given at the beginning of the course to see what students know. Practice Tests are given in preparation for external exams. There are several External Exams given by different organizations that allow schools, places of employment, immigration, etc., evaluate a students proficiency level in the English language.
