I've learnt that one has to have a balance of both authentic and created materials to suit the needs of the students. When using course books, its important to omit, replace, supplement and adapt when necessary. Having a clean board with essential information on it that is written clearly and to erase information on the board that is no longer relevant is an important factor for an organised teacher.
