This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This chapter introduced the concept of tenses and briefly discussed their importance before launching into an explanation of the four present tenses: simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. The chapter's explanations of the four tenses and when to use them were very specific and thorough, though they would likely be difficult for even advanced ESL students to fully understand. I already had a reasonable understanding of these concepts, but reviewing them and and thinking about the minutiae will help me to explain such concepts to my students in the future. As a native speaker, I don't often think about such intricacies and find it difficult to explain them to ESL students. Chapters such as this serve to alleviate this difficulty.
