This unit describes many teaching techniques such as grammar translation, the silent way, and task-based learning. I was already familiar with the majority of these techniques from an education class I took in my undergraduate career. However, there were a few techniques that were completely new, such as the silent way. The unit also gave a detailed explanation of the ESA method of teaching. I deeply appreciated the plethora of examples provided for each stage of the ESA model. As a Resident Assistant, I have had to submit many program proposals that functioned in a similar way. Although I was familiar with about half of the material presented, I feel that this unit was an excellent introduction to writing a lesson plan.
