I really found this lesson to be difficult. I always thought that every word must have a stressed syllable. But after reading this lesson, I found that most words are unstressed than stressed. I thought that the only words that could not carry a stress are weak vowels, but it also seems that words that are only added to form proper grammar also do not carry a stress. It was also really great to see the types of phonetics activities that I could provide to my students. Next time I teach pronunciation, I will make sure to use my mouth as a visual aid. Lastly, phonemes are important when teaching pronunciation. However, they are extremely difficult to learn as native speakers, but worth the time investment to successfully teach pronunciation to my future students.
