This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
During this unit I reflected on the classroom arrangements I have been a part of as a student as well as how I have arranged my classes as an assistant language teacher. In my past experience I have had a professor use the horseshoe method to make the class feel more inclusive, however I felt that the circle was too big and I did not know the class well enough to feel intimate and comfortable enough with them to express myself. In my classes I often do pair work or group work since the majority of my lessons are to make English communicative. When I do have individual worksheets they often speak to one another in their L1 anyways to make sure they are doing the activity correctly. I need to learn my students names so I can ask them questions like how it is suggested in this unit. Because I only see a particular class once a month, and I have over 20 classes in a school of 1,000, it makes it difficult to remember everyone's names.
