Course books are the main focus of this unit. An effective teacher should always integrate the coursebook with material specifically designed in order to appeal the students and facilitate the learining process. These materials can be divided into two categories: authentic materials (not designed for the EFL student, include: articles, brochures, menus....) and designed materials (designed by the teacher: crosswords, role-play cards.....), as always these different resources need to be used with balance. When chosing a text book for a course a teacher needs to analyze its advantages and disadvantages in order to select the best possible option.
