This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered modal verbs, phrasal verbs, the passive voice and a brief overview of relative clauses. Modal verbs are used before other verbs to add meaning to the main verb of the sentence. Though their form remains the same, depending on their intended meaning, the usage of modal verbs can change when using them to speak of ideas that take place in the past.An example of the changes made when switching from present/future to past tense is as follows.
Carlos should tell Harriet about the baby. (Present)
Carlos should have told Harriet about the baby. (Past)
In the second sentence tell turns to told and our \"to be\" takes the past tense of have.
