This unit was an overview of what criteria I should use to determine what vocabulary and grammar I should teach to my students and when. The unit was good in that it provided more sample lesson plans for introducing new vocabulary and grammar. I have to say that most of what was in this unit was review for me because I already have my own experience learning foreign languages. For instance, new German words are easier for me if I can break their compounds down into smaller words and recognize a word that I already know. If the meaning of the word is similar to what the direct translation would be in English, then I can understand the word and remember its meaning better. However, if it is completely different, the word needs to present itself very frequently in books and so forth in order for me to memorize the meaning.
