Unit 7: Teaching New Language concentrates on three basic aspects of language acquisition: vocbulary, grammar and spelling and language functions. Grammar can be seen to be the trunk and branches on which the language stands, Whilst vocabulary and function fill out the picture by adding beauty, variety and meaning. These three aspects are dealt with in turn, providing the student with information on how to teach vocabulary, introducing grammatical structures, and teaching how to use the language. Suggestions for how to go about teaching these three streams are given, along with suggestions for suitable ESA choices for each.
