This unit provides a well-structured introduction to general teaching, with a focus on a teacher's role, the difference between teaching individuals and teaching groups, and existing well-accepted methodologies. Regarding the various functions that a teacher plays, it is very important that we are able to switch between these roles appropriately under different circumstances. Especially when we are interacting with mixed-level students, an emphasis should be placed on graded activities appropriate to their abilities in order to cater for maximum needs.
