Today i learnt that teaching aids can be used to create a more interesting lesson and make the students less reliant on the text book. I learnt about fifteen different teaching aids, these being; the board, interactive whiteboards, overhead projector, visual aids, worksheets/work-cards, cassette recorder, CD player , videos/dvds, video camera, dictionaries, course books , resource books, photocopier, computer and online resources. For all of the above I learnt what they are, how they can be used to enhance a lesson, appropriate teaching techniques, advantages/disadvantages and when is a good time to use the various teaching aids. The last item i was i learnt was various websites that are useful when teaching students.
