Unit seven gives a brief overview of how to teach a new language in different sections. The first is introducing new vocabulary to the classroom. There are many different techniques to this but making sure the words are appropriate for the students is a large factor. Engaging the students in fun activities to start is a great way to keep their attention throughout the class. Typical ESA vocabulary lessons are taught in a \"Straight Arrow\" technique. Introducing grammatical structures is also important part of the lesson plan. Having the students activate what they learned through role play and debate is a great way for them to practice. Most ESA lesson plans teach grammatical structures through patchwork lessons.
