This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit introduces methods for teaching receptive skills, focusing first on reading and listening. While the unit mentions that all four receptive skills are equally important, we see in this lesson that reading and listening skills are important to develop so that students will be able to move forward into speaking and writing. Reading allows students to review the same material several times for a more accurate understanding while listening forces students to focus on the material as it is delivered. Building a lesson plan focused on developing these skills with the ESA approach will involve providing material to read/listen to and questions to assess comprehension.
