It was informative to see both good teaching and bad teaching. It showed the importance of being cheerful, speaking clearly, taking a personal interest in all students, and having a structure that allows the students to flow with the material. The engage portion is particularly important, because it sets a tone for the class and the students become genuinely interested in the material. The study and activate portions are also important. The study portion allows students to learn the details of the language such as grammar, and the activate portion allows them to be creative with their language skills.
