This unit covered productive skills - speaking and writing. It helped distinguish which activities are best suited to teach students accuracy and fluency in their speaking and writing and also taught me that accuracy activities are meant to help students work on speaking correctly while fluency activities are meant to encourage students to use the language in a creative way without focusing on accuracy and more on how real communication flows. I learned that accuracy activities are best suited for the study phase and fluency activities are most often better for the activate stage, where students can be creative with the language.
